The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Senator Aniekan Bassey, have extended their congratulations to Governor Umo Eno following his victory at the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court recently affirmed Governor Eno as the duly elected governor of Akwa Ibom State in the March 18, 2023, Governorship Elections.
In a statement, PDP’s national spokesperson, Debo Ologunagba, hailed the judgment as a “victory for Democracy and the decisive triumph of the will of the people.”
Senator Aniekan Bassey, who represents Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial District, described Governor Eno’s victory as a testament to Nigeria’s democratic institutions’ strength and credibility.
Bassey congratulated Governor Umo Eno, emphasizing that the verdict validates the mandate given to him by the people of Akwa Ibom State and underscores the strength of democratic institutions.
Acknowledging the legal challenges faced, Senator Bassey commended Governor Eno for his commitment to democratic ideals, expressing confidence in the governor’s ability to lead Akwa Ibom State towards progress and integration.
He concluded by urging the people of Akwa Ibom to continue supporting Governor Umo Eno, emphasizing the importance of unity in advancing the state’s development.
