Former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, has warned that he may dump the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, if the lingering internal crisis within the party is not resolved.
Lamido made the declaration during an interview with the BBC Hausa Service in Kaduna on Tuesday.

He said should the situation in the party continue on its present path, he would be left with no choice but to take a decision he considers best for his political future, including aligning with another political party.
The former governor expressed strong displeasure over what he described as deliberate efforts by some individuals to destroy the PDP from within.
According to him, there are calculated attempts by certain elements in the party to weaken and ultimately dismantle it, lamenting that the failure of the party leadership to urgently address the deepening divisions could force him to reconsider his continued membership.
“If we cannot find solutions to the problems facing the PDP, I will have no option but to look elsewhere,” Lamido said.
The elder statesman noted that the PDP, which once served as a unifying platform for Nigerians, is now riddled with internal wrangling that has left many loyal members frustrated and disillusioned.
He warned that continued infighting could further erode the party’s strength ahead of future elections, stressing the need for decisive steps to restore unity and discipline within the party.
