Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have expressed confidence that Nigerians will vote out the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
This position was contained in a communique issued on Saturday after the governors’ meeting in Gusau, Zamfara State.
The PDP Governors’ Forum accused the APC of inflicting hardship on citizens through poor governance and divisive policies, insisting that the PDP remains the most credible alternative for Nigerians despite recent defections.

The forum disclosed that discussions focused on insecurity, the decline of democratic values, and preparations for the party’s forthcoming national convention.
Commending PDP supporters for their resilience, the governors alleged that recent by-elections were characterised by vote buying, intimidation, militarisation, and violence. They urged members to resist attempts to derail the party’s national convention, stressing that the PDP remains the best platform for restoring good governance and rebuilding the nation.
On security, the governors condemned persistent killings in Katsina, Plateau, Niger, Benue, and other states, calling on President Bola Tinubu to act decisively to protect lives and property.
Those present at the meeting included Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, Dauda Lawal of Zamfara, Agbu Kefas of Taraba, Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa, Seyi Makinde of Oyo, Douye Diri of Bayelsa, and Ademola Adeleke of Osun.
