The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has commenced an expanded caucus meeting at its National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja, following an earlier police presence that sparked tension among party members.
InfoStride News gathered that the caucus meeting was convened shortly after PDP governors met behind closed doors at the Bauchi State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja.
In attendance were Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State, and former Senate President Bukola Saraki, among other key stakeholders.

Addressing reporters, Governor Mohammed — who chairs the PDP Governors’ Forum — said the police blockade was necessary to prevent miscreants from disrupting the party’s activities.
Meanwhile, the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT) meeting, initially scheduled for Wadata Plaza, was relocated to the Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja’s Central Business District due to security concerns.
Some PDP officials condemned the police deployment, describing it as harassment. Former PDP National Secretary Umar Tsauri told reporters that the officers claimed they were acting on an “order from above.”
However, the FCT Police Command denied sealing off the secretariat.
In a statement, Command spokesperson Josephine Adeh clarified that the officers were only deployed to maintain law and order, insisting that the premises were never shut down.
