The National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Bolaji Abdullahi, has declared that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is “dead and only awaiting its obituary.”
Abdullahi made the remark on Saturday during the unveiling of the ADC State Secretariat in Ilorin, Kwara State.
According to the former Minister of Sports and Youth Development, the ADC has emerged as the only credible opposition party capable of challenging the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in the coming elections.

“The question is no longer whether Kwarans want the APC; that question has been answered. They don’t,” Abdullahi said.
“The question now is whether we can convince them that ADC is the only alternative — and that’s exactly what we’ll do in the coming elections.”
He criticised the current administration for failing to curb rising insecurity in Kwara communities, noting that the situation had crippled agricultural activities and disrupted rural livelihoods.
“Our people can no longer farm safely. The government must do more to restore peace and protect the lives of citizens,” he added.
Also speaking at the event, former Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, described the unveiling of the ADC Secretariat as the dawn of a new political movement in the state.
“This is the beginning of a new direction in our political experience. The ADC is poised to entrench a party that reflects the true aspirations of Kwarans,” Ahmed stated.
