The Chairman of the Kogi State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Muhammed Gambo, has declared that the party is poised to reclaim Lugard House in the 2027 general elections.
In a statement issued on Friday in Lokoja, Gambo likened the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to “people living in a rented apartment,” expressing confidence that the PDP would secure victory in a free and fair poll.
According to him, the APC’s tenure in Kogi State is nearing its end, urging residents to remain loyal to the PDP, which he described as a party with strong structures and a proven track record of development in the state.

“The All Progressives Congress’ time is up. The people of Kogi should remain loyal to the PDP, which has strong party structures and a proven record of progress in the state,” the statement partly read.
Gambo called for peace, respect for the rule of law and cooperation on security matters, stressing that Kogi remains a PDP state.
He further expressed confidence in the party’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its structures across the country, adding that the PDP also harbours ambitions of returning to power at the national level.
“In a free and fair election, the PDP will win by a landslide. Our structures are strong both in Kogi State and across Nigeria,” he said, recalling the party’s previous administrations as periods marked by prosperity.
He added that the time had come for the APC government to vacate Lugard House in 2027.
“This is a call for no retreat, no surrender,” Gambo stated, urging citizens to remain committed to the PDP, support security initiatives and remain peaceful and law-abiding.
He acknowledged the security challenges facing the state, describing them as unfortunate, but said the PDP was willing to collaborate with the government to address the situation.
“A state must exist before any political party,” he said.
Reiterating his optimism, the PDP chairman maintained that the party would reclaim Lugard House in 2027, insisting that Kogi State has remained a PDP stronghold since 1999.
