Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, has dismissed claims that the North is dissatisfied with the current administration.
Bwala’s comments came in response to former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal, who recently alleged that Tinubu was neglecting the North and cutting the region off from ongoing federal projects.
Lawal further claimed that key northern politicians had formed a forum ahead of the 2027 elections to challenge Tinubu’s leadership.

Speaking on Channels Television on Wednesday, Bwala rejected Lawal’s position, stressing that the region remains supportive of the president’s style of governance.
“Northern Nigeria is extremely comfortable with the governance approach of Mr President. Do you know why? He is solving the problems that are in the long term and the problems in the moment. You can see conscious efforts by the president through various policies,” Bwala stated.
He insisted that Tinubu’s policies were addressing both immediate challenges and systemic issues facing the country.
Responding to questions on whether the presidency acknowledges complaints from Nigerians about economic hardship, Bwala maintained that progress was already being recorded.
According to him, there is a distinction between genuine concerns from citizens and what he described as an “agenda cooked by opposition politicians.”
Bwala argued that opposition parties were unsettled by the results and performance of the Tinubu administration, which, he said, was gradually steering the country towards stability and development.
