The President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has stated that he has the utmost faith in the honesty and reliability of his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila.
“There are a number of different accounts floating around concerning what is taking place. I have made it clear to everyone in this country that I am not perfect and that I do make mistakes.
“I’ve been forced to listen to them out and then correct them. Only God, who is all-powerful, can achieve perfection. I have no doubts about the honesty of my Chief of Staff. I have full faith in him.

Before the Federal Executive Council proceeded into a session behind closed doors, the president gave a statement in which he demanded an end to “all the campaign of calumny and insinuation.”
Additionally, President Tinubu issued a stern warning to government officials and family members, imploring them not to show up uninvited to the meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC).
“During the past week, I’ve seen individuals slipping in and out of this council without authorization. This location should not have been accessible to the public, but it was. That cannot be tolerated in any way.
“People who are intended to be here, I will make an announcement to you right now.
“Hadiza Usman, Special Adviser on Policy Coordination, has the following to say: Damilotun Aderemi serves as a Private Secretary, Hakeem Muri-Okunola serves as the Principal Private Secretary, and Bayo Onanuga is the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy.
“These are the individuals to whom the privilege of being present in this room when we are engaged in the business of the nation has been extended. If I haven’t asked you to attend, don’t bother coming.”
The president asked George Akume, who served as Secretary to the Government of the Federation, and Folashade Yemi-Esan, who served as Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), to make a note of his directive.
“No one should have access to the FEC meeting unless they are members of your staff who are included, and even then, only after I have disclosed their identities to you should they do so.
“Let me also say that the planning of an event about the government must be well articulated and followed accurately,” he said. “Let me also say that the event itself must be accurate.” (NAN)
