The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal finally set the date for ruling on the three petitions contesting the proclamation of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the winner of the 2023 presidential election to be this coming Wednesday, September 6, ending two weeks of speculation.
The date was announced on Monday by Umar Mohammed Bangari, chief registrar of the Court of Appeal.
Bangari, whose court is hosting the Tribunal, has stated that all necessary measures have been taken to ensure that the verdicts in the three petitions are delivered without delay.
Abubakar Atiku of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP), and Atiku of the Allied Peoples Movement (APC) have submitted applications for the presidency.
In order to prevent crowding and security breaches, Bangari suggested that only invited members of political parties and the general public would be allowed inside the courtroom.
