The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has strongly condemned the alleged padding of the 2024 budget by N3 trillion.
In a statement issued by the party’s acting National Publicity Secretary, Muhammed Ishaq, on Sunday, the PRP described the act as gross misconduct and a blatant disregard for the principles of transparency, accountability, and fiscal responsibility.
Expressing deep concern over the potential negative impact of such actions on the economy, developmental goals, and the overall well-being of the people, the PRP emphasized the importance of factual appropriation and funding in line with the provisions of the budget office.

The party called on parliament to fulfill its statutory and constitutional responsibilities by ensuring judicious use of public funds for the advancement of citizens’ interests.
The PRP urged relevant authorities to investigate the allegation promptly and hold accountable all those found guilty of malfeasance.
Additionally, it called on the National Assembly to thoroughly scrutinize the budget to ensure alignment with the nation’s best interests.
Reminding elected officials of their primary duty to serve the people with integrity and honesty, the PRP reiterated its commitment to promoting good governance, fighting corruption, and ensuring that every Nigerian enjoys the dividends of democracy.
