Real Madrid midfielder, Federico Valverde has backed his club to get a result at the Etihad Stadium for the second leg of their Champions League tie. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, even if he is not happy that Real Madrid couldn’t secure the victory at the Bernabeu, he is pleased that they were brave enough to prevent the defeat on their home ground.

Valverde added that the game is still very even at the moment because it involves 2 very good teams.
His words, “It’s not good because we would have liked to win. The draw feels like last year, like a defeat. What was important was that we responded to their goal. We were good, at 2-1 we lacked pressing them a bit higher so that they felt uncomfortable. And obviously, there’s the tiredness, lots of minutes chasing and it was harder to come out on the counterattack.
It’s very even. We’re two of the best in the Champions League, we’re two very good teams. They have that plus of playing at home but we will bring the fight and try to do our best. We’re going to fight, as we always do. We have lots of players who have won five Champions Leagues, we have to make that count. You always have to believe, to have conviction. Us especially. We’re an example in that so that the fans believe. We are the first to believe it can be done. We have to work hard, every player has to give everything in every ball and if we all pull in the same direction I think we can do it.”
WOW.
Real Madrid Club de Fútbol, commonly referred to as Real Madrid, is a Spanish professional football club based in Madrid. The club competes in La Liga, the top tier of Spanish football.
Real Madrid has maintained the white shirt for its home kit throughout the history of the club. There was, however, one season that the shirt and shorts were not both white. It was an initiative undertaken by Juan Padrós in honor of an English team Corinthian F.C., which he had met on one of his trips, one of the most famous teams at the time known for its elegance and sportsmanship.
It was under Florentino Pérez’s first presidency (2000–2006) that Real Madrid started its ambition of becoming the world’s richest professional football club. The club ceded part of its training grounds to the city of Madrid in 2001, and sold the rest to four corporations: Repsol YPF, Mutua Automovilística de Madrid, Sacyr Vallehermoso and OHL.
Hala Madrid is a magazine published quarterly for the Real Madrid club members and the Madridistas Fan Club card holders. The phrase Hala Madrid, meaning “Forward Madrid” or “Go Madrid”, is also the title of the club’s official anthem, which is often sung by the Madridistas (the club’s fans).
