Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Dr. Paul Enenche, has come out to reveal his reason for turning down a N30 million donation from Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris. Recall that the rejection of the Governor’s donation happened at a recent crusade in the state, and Nigerians have been reacting.
According to him, the decision was not personal, and it was based on a long-standing principle of avoiding government money or influence in his ministry, so he has no regrets.
The clergyman added that while the stance might be shocking to some people, it is how his church has always acted.
His words, “For some people, that may be a surprise because they don’t know who we are. But those who know us, that’s no surprise at all. That’s how we’ve lived, and that’s what we’ve stood for.
I don’t want to touch any dime of government money. Accepting such gifts can tie your hands. I want to be free to carry out my prophetic duty without fear or favour.”
