The last episode of “Game of Thrones” served viewers what they have been waiting for – an fantastic Westeros battle involving the dragons.
Titled “The Spoils of War,” the episode ended with Jaime Lannister’s unsure fate. Jaime made a confident run at Daenerys while she was trying to pull out the sword from her injured dragon.
The episode ended on a high as Jaime was rescued into the water by Bronn as the angry dragon unleashed fire that narrowly missed The Lannister.
Speaking in an interview, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau who plays Jaime spoke about the epic scene and his future in the series.
“Even though Daenerys is the hero and the Lannisters are the villains, being burned alive is not great,” he told EW.
“It’s a terrifying thing when this monster flamethrower comes along and incinerates thousands and thousands of men who are just doing their job.”
“Jaime attacked Daenerys because he is such an idiot that he thinks for a second, ‘If I can do this, I can win the whole thing in a Hail Mary.”
“It seems impossible to survive that. Luckily, he’s not wearing the Kingsguard armor, which is made of brass.
“But oh my God, don’t get me started on the water! We had a full day of going to the bottom, and that was not nice. I got a little sick, after.
“You have to go down, you have to equalize the pressure, and I’m not very good at that. It was just a tough, tough day.”
Recently, Coster-Waldau was asked about his taboo relationship with his twin sister Cersei, the actor simply said,
“It’s not going to end well for Jaime Lannister, I can’t imagine.”
