Sociopolitical analyst Reno Omokri has made a bold assertion, stating that the North and South will continue to control political power in Nigeria.
Omokri emphasized that the unity and humility exhibited by both regions will ensure their dominance in the country’s political landscape.
In a post on X, the former presidential aide suggested that unless other regions in Nigeria learn from the North and Western parts of the country, political power will remain firmly in the hands of these two blocs.

He likened the political power dynamics between the North and South to a tennis game, where power is passed back and forth between the regions every eight years.
Omokri explained, “Only the death of an incumbent President can temporarily break that circadian rhythm
And if that even occurs, the pendulum swing will be readjusted back to its original factory settings during elections, and equilibrium will be retained.”
He cautioned that unity without humility could lead to feelings of superiority, while humility without unity could result in internal geopolitical wrangling and political instability.
Omokri stressed the importance of counterbalancing unity with humility to gain and retain power in Nigeria’s multi-ethnic polity.
In conclusion, Omokri urged other regions to emulate the unity and humility displayed by the North and Southwest to challenge the status quo in Nigeria’s political landscape.
