Paris Saint-Germain’s decision to bench Gianluigi Donnarumma is crazy, Christian Abbiati has said. Christian recently revealed that he suspects a deep misunderstanding between the club and the player.
Speaking during an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Abbiati shared that something must have happened that the general public does not know about, because there is no logical explanation for what is currently happening.

According to him, whatever transpired behind the scenes must have been very serious for both parties to be ready to part ways after a successful season together.
“There’s something crazy about all this. Or maybe something happened we don’t know about, and then okay, it’s their business, their business alone. Otherwise, it’s crazy, something that has no logical explanation,” he said.
He further noted that Donnarumma was more than half responsible for their Champions League success, stressing that his crucial saves helped the club get over the line.
Abbiati concluded by saying that replacing a goalkeeper who delivered the UCL title would be tough for PSG.
“In Europe he made senseless saves, saves that few would have been capable of making.
So, we can say that there are many better players with their feet than him, but from there to replacing a goalkeeper who has put a Champions League title in your trophy cabinet.
[Out of 10 I’d give him] an 11 between the posts and a 6.5 with his feet. Still, a full pass,” he added.
