Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State has claimed that he was the target of gunfire fired at him early on Monday morning by security officers in the state.
After getting into a confrontation with members of the security force on his approach to the Rivers House of Assembly, he proceeded to address the crowd and made the accusation there.
According to InfoStride News, a maneuver allegedly carried out by some members of the state House of Assembly has been responsible for the disarray that has been plaguing the state.

On Sunday night, there was an explosion at the assembly site, adding fuel to the suspicions that there was a plot to remove the governor from office.
After touring the facility, the governor gave a speech to the crowd where he pledged that he would not suggest that the state’s law enforcement officials have been corrupted.
He said, “I understand how you all are feeling; please don’t get worked up about it.” Great Rivers State children and adolescents. Very nice! When we are younger, we hold more sway over our lives.
“However, when it comes to our own power, there will be no abuse of it on our part. This morning, when we woke up, some extremely distressing news was waiting for us. We decided to go to the Assembly for ourselves in order to get a better understanding of what had taken place.
“As I was making my way there, I was directly shot at by the operation, or whatever they call it,” he said. But it makes no difference; sooner or later, somebody is going to pass away, and it doesn’t matter if it’s you or someone else. So whatever it is that wants to happen on my path today, I’m going to let it happen.
