In a recent development, Enemi George, a prominent member of the Rivers State House of Assembly, has firmly ruled out any possibility of returning to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), his former political party, after defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
George, who is part of the group of 27 lawmakers that recently moved from the PDP to the APC, expressed their commitment to supporting President Bola Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’.
He made these remarks during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today program on Wednesday.

“We have crossed the Rubicon. We have moved to the APC. We voted for the President, if we find Mr. President worthy of our votes then I think we should find him worthy of our support.
We have moved over to join his Renewed Hope Agenda to work hands in gloves with him to ensure that the expectations of Nigerians are fulfilled,” George stated.
The political landscape in Rivers State has been marked by a significant rift between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, leading to a split among lawmakers in the House.
This split resulted in 27 lawmakers defecting from the PDP to the ruling APC.
The move by Enemi George and his colleagues is expected to have far-reaching implications for the political dynamics in Rivers State and may impact the power balance within the state legislature.
