Spanish jewellery expert Juana García Sánchez has said that Al-Nassr star Cristiano Ronaldo proposed to long-term partner Georgina Rodriguez with a cocktail ring. She recently revealed that the ring Ronaldo used for the proposal does not meet the criteria for an engagement ring.
Speaking to the press, Sanchez shared that such a ring is not ideal for marriage proposals because it is big, heavy and uncomfortable.

According to her, cocktail rings weigh approximately 40 carats, so any woman who receives one should be ready to endure restricted finger movement.
She stated that while the setting was perfect for Ronaldo’s proposal, everything else after that wasn’t up to the required standard.
“It doesn’t meet the criteria for an engagement ring because it’s huge and heavy.
This type of stone, weighing approximately 40 carats, is more suitable for a necklace than a ring. It’s uncomfortable and restricts finger movement.
Only the setting is perfect, but the rest is flawed,” she said.
The expert further claimed that the ring might be good for unique celebrations, but it cannot be used as an everyday wear.
She concluded by saying that what is supposed to be worn on a daily basis has to be very comfortable for its owner.
“They’re large, shiny rings, designed for special occasions or celebrations, not for everyday wear. An engagement ring should be yellow or white gold.
At the same time, it should be comfortable and allow for finger mobility, as it’s expected to be worn every day, symbolizing love and fidelity.
Essentially, this ring is more of a gala or cocktail ring, designed to attract attention on special occasions, but not to symbolize a commitment to love for everyday wear,” she added.
