After Antoine Griezmann and Atletico Madrid’s exit from the UCL at the hands of Juventus and Critiano Ronaldo, his first words in his post match interview were, “We’re screwed”
The Frenchman didn’t leave anything unsaid and was frank with his comments on the game.
His team’s two-goal advantage from the first-leg quickly became nothing after Cristiano Ronaldo’s heroics.
His words, “We did not enter the game, we knew it was going to be difficult and we chose a bad day to screw it up,” he said.
“Everyone is f****ed up and I feel guilty, because I could not keep up with the pace of the game.”
“Cristiano has taken the measure to the whole world because he is a great player.
“In the first leg we managed to give him no chances and today he had three and all three went in.”
“I do not know what to say to the fans. We’re screwed,”
“They have been superior at all levels. We can not let them win 3-0. It has not been our day.”
Atletico Madrid will now set their sights on a decent La Liga finish.
