Real Madrid striker, Kylian Mbappe has come out to react to surpassing Ronaldo Nazario’s achievement at the club. He recently surpassed the legendary Ronaldo’s final total of 30 in the 2002-03 campaign and is currently closing in on Cristiano Ronaldo’s 33 in 2009-10.
According to him, surpassing both football legends who have defined an era will not mean he is a bigger footballer than them at Madrid, and it is just about numbers.
Mbappe added that it only means his first season is going better, but he is more focused on winning trophies.
His words, “They’re legends who have defined an era. It’s important, but it’s all about numbers. If I score more goals than Ronaldo and Cristiano, it doesn’t mean I’m bigger, it just means my first season is going better. The important thing is to help and win titles. Scoring goals is important, but even more so if we win LaLiga, the Champions League, and the Copa del Rey.”
