Senegal international Sadio Mane on Tuesday, May 9 won Liverpool Players’ Player of the Season and the Player of the season awards at the club’s end of season bash.
At the event which held in Anfield, Mane who is currently injured was given the awards following his impressive debut campaign in Liverpool.
The 25-year-old joined Liverpool last summer in a £34 deal from Southampton, signing a five-year-contract.
The Liverpool leading goalscorer for this season beat Philipe Coutinho for the Player of the Season, stopping the Brazilian from winning the award for the third year running.
The pacey forward scooped both Players’ Player of the Season and the prestigious Player of the Season accolade following a remarkable debut campaign with the Reds which could yet see him finish as the club’s top goalscorer.
“I just want to thank my team-mates and supporters for giving me this honour,” he said after receiving that awards.
“It means so much to me. I feel at home at this club and in this city.
“My team-mates, the staff, the manager and the supporters have all made me feel so welcome since I joined the club.
“I have loved every minute of playing for Liverpool this season and can’t wait to get back fit to help the team again.”
Other awards for the night include Young Player of the Season (Trent Alexander-Arnold) and Academy Player of the Season (Ben Woodburn).
The goal of the season went to Emre Can for his wonder striker against Watford.
The players were all suited and booted for the bash which they attended with their partners.
Liverpool’s next game is a trip to London to face West Ham as the battle for Champions League spot continues.
