Popular American-Jamaican singer Sean Kingston has been sentenced to three and a half years in prison in Florida. The sentencing happened after a $1m wire fraud scheme that also implicated his mother, and fans have been reacting.
Recall that the “Beautiful Girls” crooner was convicted in March for using falsified wire receipts to obtain luxury cars, watches, and other items.

His mum, Janice Turner, was handed a 5-year jail term with probation in July.
Sean Kingston and Janice were first arrested in May 2024 after a SWAT raid on their South Florida home.
According to prosecutors, Sean lured sellers of high-end goods via social media, vowing to promote their goods on his platforms, only to provide fake proof of payment.
The items included a bulletproof Cadillac Escalade and an Audemars Piguet watch.
Court records have since shown that Kingston texted his mum instructions to “make [a] fake receipt” to delay payments.
His mother eventually admitted to falsifying the wires, despite claiming that she was only protecting her son.
Before sentencing, Kingston apologised and showed remorse, though his request for home confinement was denied.
