The crisis rocking the Benue State All Progressives Congress (APC) took a dangerous turn on Thursday as security operatives invaded the state secretariat of the party.
Not less than 12 patrol vehicles of security operatives cordoned off the premises of the party’s secretariat around 4:00 pm, threatening to arrest stalwarts and youths.
The incident occurred on Thursday when the Chairman of Ehaje Ward 1 Ogbadibo LGA of Benue State, Mr Peter Onoja, visited the state secretariat with other ward exco members to disassociate themselves from the purported suspension of the embattled state chairman of the party, Comr. Austin Agada.

It will be recalled that Agada was purportedly suspended by a rival exco of his ward, which was later upturned by the national leadership of the party.
The security operatives, suspected to be security details from Government House, Makurdi, stormed the party secretariat and disrupted a press conference by the Ehaje Ward 1 exco, who came in solidarity with Agada.
Tension rose at the secretariat as the security operatives, the Chairman, and other party stalwarts engaged in a verbal confrontation.
Agada was later taken to the Headquarters of the Benue Police Command by the security personnel amid gunshots fired into the air to disperse the crowd at the secretariat.
