Senate President Godswill Akpabio has expressed confidence that the legislative agenda of the 10th National Assembly will significantly enhance the standard of living for Nigerians.
He made this assertion in Abuja on Monday during the public hearing on the Student Loan Access to Higher Education Repeal and Re-enactment Bill 2024.
The public hearing, organized by the Senate Committee on Tertiary Institutions and Tetfund and the House of Representatives Committee on Student Loans, Scholarship, and Higher Education Financing, aimed to gather input on the bill.

Represented by the Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, Akpabio commended President Bola Tinubu for his visionary support of Nigerian students through the loan scheme.
He emphasized that the scheme would help address the funding challenges faced by Nigerian students.
Akpabio assured stakeholders that their opinions would be carefully considered to ensure the best legislation for the re-enactment of the act.
He encouraged stakeholders to freely express their views, noting that public hearings are vital in the legislative process as they allow the public and relevant stakeholders to contribute to law-making.
He concluded by stating that the recommendations and submissions from the public hearing would guide the Senate and the House of Representatives in making laws that promote good governance and improve the lives of citizens.
