Kashim Shettima, Nigeria’s Vice President, has urged the country’s citizens to back President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Shettima emphasised the need for everyone to put aside their differences in politics, religion, tribe, and region and work together to solve the country’s problems.
The Vice President made the request during a courtesy visit to his office at the Presidential Villa in Abuja from the leadership of the 10th House of Representatives, led by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas.

With the words, “The President is determined to redefine the meaning and concept of modern leadership,” Shettima pleaded with the House of Representatives to support the Tinubu administration’s mission. Right from the get-go, he was hitting on all cylinders. The President has established his reliability, dependability, and dedication to the office. I beseech you, Mr. Speaker, to join me in backing the President’s admirable efforts to remake the United States.
“What binds us together supersedes what divides us,” he said, “and given the state of affairs in our country, we must band together as a single force, regardless of differences in political affiliations or religious persuasions, tribal and sectional backgrounds.”
He promised the delegation that they would be able to find peaceful methods to work together for the good of the nation, and he voiced his support for the legislature by highlighting the fact that he and President Tinubu both served in the National Assembly previously.
Shettima congratulated the new leaders of the House of Representatives on their election and urged them to work together under the leadership of Speaker Yakubu Dogara to tackle the most pressing issues facing the country.
Speaker Yakubu Dogara responded by assuring the Vice President of the House’s support for all federal government programmes and policies and expressing a willingness to work together on issues that benefit the Nigerian public.
Members of the House of Representatives who accompanied the Speaker included the Deputy Speaker, the Deputy Majority Leader, the Chief Whip, the Deputy Chief Whip, the Minority Leader, the Deputy Minority Leader, the Minority Whip, the Deputy Minority Whip, and the Deputy Minority Whip.
