Abdullahi Sule, governor of Nasarawa State, has said that the N8,000 subsidy from the federal government will help people cope with the loss of their gasoline subsidies.
The Governor stated his opinion on N8,000 being a significant amount for many low-income families in the country during an appearance on Politics Today on Channels Television on Friday.
He recalled that initially only N5,000 was given out as palliatives, and that many people had come to rely on that sum.

He emphasised its importance, saying that many families counted on it to improve their lives, and that some communities had even pooled resources to great effect in their neighbourhoods.
So, he continued, “N8,000 might not seem like much to some, but it’s a lot to so many others who come from really poor households and don’t get N8,000 every month.
So, all we need to do is find those families and find out who they are.
