Kaduna’s state government has reevaluated the cost of higher education for the state’s native population.
The Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani, made these remarks to the media on Monday in Kaduna, where he was discussing the topic of a “Review of current fees regime in Kaduna State tertiary institutions.” “The extant fees regime in the State-owned tertiary institutions is burdensome and has led to a significant decline in student enrolment,” he stated.
Many students have decided not to continue their education after high school because of the high cost of attending universities.

He emphasized the importance of adopting a competitive fees model in universities and colleges in order to halt the downward trend.
He continued by saying that he had accepted the suggestions as a compassionate, responsive, and responsible government official and had revised the rates accordingly.
The tuition at both Kaduna State University (currently N150,000) and Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic (currently N100,000) have been reduced by 30% and 50%, respectively, to N105,000 and N50,000, respectively.
Shehu Idris College of Health Sciences & Technology, Makarfi, HND Courses, current fee: N100,000, reduced by 30%, making the new fee: N70,000; College of Education, Gidan Waya, current fee: N75,000, reduced by 50%, having the new fee: N37,500; The tuition at the Kaduna State College of Nursing, which was previously N100,000, has been reduced by 30% to N70,000, and the tuition at the National Diploma Institute has decreased from N75,000 to N52,000.
The State administration, according to Governor Sani, is committed to providing palliatives to cushion the effect of the generally growing expense of living, thus they have reviewed the existing fees regime downward.
