Former Heartland FC captain, Ike Thankgod says he has no regrets joining Omani club, Fanja Sports Club.

The defender joined from Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) club, Warri Wolves and has hit the ground running at his new surroundings.

He has exclusively told supersport.com that he has no regrets joining the Oman Professional League outfit.

“Some persons have called me to express their reservations about the move but I don’t listen to that kind of talk.
.
“The standard of football is good here and the money is even better,” he said with a smile.

Thankgod further revealed that “so many clubs in Nigeria” sought after his services before he decided to join Fanja.

“I had to make a decision because so many clubs in Nigeria wanted to sign me.
.
“Enyimba FC, Enugu Rangers and Abia Warriors all showed interest in signing me but I had to consider several factors before joining Fanja,” he said.

He rounded off by discussing his love for Nigerian delicacies which he said has been hampered by the switch to Oman.

“I love eba and vegetable soup but so far, it has been impossible to find that here.
.
“I have spoken to another Nigerian who also plays in here in Oman; Felix Ogbuke and he says he has also been on the lookout (for the delicacy) without any success.
.
“The weather is not too bad even though it could get quite hot during the day and very cold at night.
.
Fanja SC have won the Omani national title on eight occasions.
