Veteran Nigerian rapper Eedris Abdulkareem has spoken about his marriage of over two decades. He recently described it as a union directly ordained by God, and fans have been reacting.
Speaking during an interview on the Olofix Podcast, he emphasized that the secret to a long and peaceful life is for a man to marry only one wife.
Eedris added that God specifically prepared his wife for him, and the divine nature of his marriage became even clearer when she donated one of her kidneys to save his life during his health crisis.
His words, “I met my wife on September 18, 2003. We got married on December 11, 2004. And based on what God told me to do, that is how I take my action.
Now, 20 years later, God said, ‘I am not done with you yet.’ You had a covenant with me. This is 21 years later.
God gave me my own wife, not another person’s wife. Why will I be stupid to let another woman give birth to a child for me again?
Truly, we are Africans. You are allowed to be polygamous in nature. Even Islam says if you love women equally, you can marry as many as you can.
But let us be sincere — it is not possible to love women equally. You can only love one woman.
And as men with wisdom, if you want to live long, make sure only one woman gives birth to your children. If you want to live a sweet life, make sure it’s only one woman.”
