Hollywood actress Kate Winslet has shared her candid thoughts on the widespread use of weight loss drugs. She recently had her say during a new interview with the Sunday Times, and fans have been reacting.
According to her, she finds the current prevalence of the drugs very concerning because she cannot understand how people’s self-esteem is highly connected to how they look nowadays.

Winslet added that the utter disregard for one’s health has been more than terrifying in recent years.
Her words, “It is devastating. If a person’s self-esteem is so bound up in how they look, it’s frightening.
And it’s puzzling because I have moments when I think it’s better, when I look at actresses at events dressed how they want, whichever shape. But then so many people are on weight-loss drugs. It’s so varied. Some are making choices to be themselves, others do everything they can to not be themselves.
And do they know what they are putting in [their bodies]? The disregard for one’s health is terrifying. It bothers me now more than ever. It is f—— chaos out there.
My favorite thing is when your hands get old. That’s life, in your hands. Some of the most beautiful women I know are over 70, and what upsets me is that young women have no concept of what being beautiful actually is.
What idea of perfection are people aspiring to? I blame social media and its effect on mental health.”
WOW.
The cinema of the United States, consisting mainly of major film studios (also known metonymously as Hollywood) along with some independent films, has had a large effect on the global film industry since the early 20th century.
The dominant style of American cinema is classical Hollywood cinema, which developed from 1910 to 1962 and is still typical of most films made there to this day.
Hollywood is considered to be the oldest film industry, in the sense of being the place where the earliest film studios and production companies emerged. It is the birthplace of various genres of cinema —among them comedy, drama, action, the musical, romance, horror, science fiction, and the epic—and has set the example for other national film industries.
Many of Hollywood’s highest-grossing movies have generated more box-office revenue and ticket sales outside the United States than films made elsewhere. The United States is a leading pioneer in motion picture engineering and technology.
