Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has come out to say that Jurrien Timber is closing in on a return to fitness. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, even if the Netherlands international is nearing a comeback, the defender still has a few steps to make before partaking in a competitive fixture.
Arteta added that Timber needs to play at least one game with the 23s, and then he’ll know what to do after that.
His words, “Still he’s got a few steps to make. He needs to play at least a game with the 23s. We’re going to have an in house game too. He’s done everything in training now it’s about getting him match fit.”

Arsenal finished the league season in eighth, their lowest finish since 1994–95, but beat Chelsea 2–1 to earn a record-extending 14th FA Cup win. After the season, Arteta’s title was changed from head coach to manager.
