President Bola Tinubu has appointed Daniel Bwala as Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications (State House), succeeding Ajuri Ngelale, who vacated the role in September.
Ajuri Ngelale, who previously served as Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, stepped down earlier this year after submitting a memo to the Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, indicating his intention to proceed on indefinite leave.
He also temporarily relinquished his responsibilities as the Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action and Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee on Project Evergreen, citing medical matters affecting his immediate family.

Bwala, during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday, confirmed his new position.
“When Ajuri was there, the nomenclature was Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, and now that role is called Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications (State House). Sunday Dare works from the Office of the Minister of Information,” he explained.
The appointment marks a restructuring of Tinubu’s media advisory team as Bwala assumes his duties at the State House.
