The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Elijah Ayodele, has said that President Bola Tinubu has performed better than former Presidents Muhammadu Buhari and Goodluck Jonathan, despite facing widespread public disapproval.
Speaking to journalists in Lagos on Sunday, Ayodele said Tinubu’s administration has recorded notable achievements but claimed that many Nigerians and some close associates are opposed to his second-term ambition.

“Tinubu has done well for Nigerians, but the problem is that Nigerians hate him. The problem is nemesis. Tinubu’s problem is that those surrounding him don’t like him and they don’t want him for a second term,” he said.
He urged the President to reassess his strategy ahead of the 2027 general election.
“He has to wake up, restrategize, and focus on what to do. The agenda must change, but the point is that Tinubu has done better than Buhari; maybe he has even done better than Jonathan,” Ayodele added.
The cleric cited infrastructure improvements, including developments along the Coastal Road corridor and in the Ajah area, as examples of progress under the current administration.
Ayodele also predicted that several state governors and members of the House of Representatives may struggle to secure re-election in 2027 without electoral manipulation.
“There are some governors and House of Representatives members who, except there is rigging, I don’t think they can win in 2027,” he said.
He further warned that the 2027 election would witness higher voter turnout compared to 2023, claiming that Nigerians are more determined to participate.
Commenting on the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Joash Amupitan, Ayodele said Nigerians may not appreciate his efforts ahead of the next election cycle.
“The 2027 election is not going to be like that of 2023. Nigerians are determined; they are coming out strongly, and the date of the election, I don’t see it as being realistic. The date might be changed, but let’s wait and see,” he said.
Ayodele maintained that public scrutiny of the electoral process would intensify as the 2027 polls approach.
