Uganda coach, Sebastien Desabre is of the opinion that his boys proved that the nation has something to offer after their match against Egypt.
Even after losing 2-0 to the hosts, Uganda still finished 2nd in the group to make it to the next round.
Sebastien is pleased with the type of game his boys played and said his aims before the tournament started have already been achieved.
His words to Daily Monitor, “We are very disappointed [with the defeat] but I’m proud of my players because we have shown a good side of Ugandan football. We played an open game but we could have done more both defensively and in the attack,”
“The most important thing in football is to score but we didn’t manage to score. We have qualified for the second round. It was the target of the federation. We played well until [Mohamed] Salah scored and it was the key moment.”
They are set to now face Senegal in the next round.
