
Banadir Sports club have wrapped up the Somalian league crown with a game to spare.
The Mogadishu-based club made certain of the title after a 2-1 win over Gaadiidka last Monday (30 March 2014), in a game a point would have even been enough.
Both teams exhibited very professional and more competitive game, as Gaadiidka engulfed in relegation were bent on avoiding a loss.
After a barren first half, Nigeria-born striker Mustapha Maxwell Utangi shot Banadair into the lead on 52 minutes before Kenya-import Marcel Somson Otigi doubled the lead two minutes later.
Banadir, unbeaten after 13 games are on 31 points, six more than second place Elman with a game to spare in the eight-club league.
Meanwhile, Savana which have bagged just a point from as many matches have been relegated to the Division B ahead of the ultimate round of matches on Sunday, 6 April 2014.
