Netherlands coach, Ronald Koeman has come out to provide a big update on Virgil van Dijk’s future. This is coming amid his uncertain contract situation at Liverpool, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, it does not matter if VVD signs with Liverpool or another big club, any decision will be good for the national team as long as he keeps playing.
Koeman added that from their chats at the national team camp, the defender still wants to play at the highest level.
His words, “Whether he signs with Liverpool or another big club, that’s all good for me. We’ll see what happens. And what I understand from Virgil is that he is still looking for the level he is at now.”
Van Dijk added, “Before the end of the season there’s going to be news. As long as I’m fully committed and have my full focus on the task ahead, and I love the club, that’s the main thing. That’s who I am.”
