
Zimbabwe beat Mozambique 2-1 in a friendly match played as part of preparations for 2014 CHAN finals. The hosts edged a pulsating game at Bourbourfields Stadium in Bulawayo giving new coach Ian Gorowa his first win on home soil. Two goals from Simba Sithole and Ali Sadiki carried the day while the Mambas scored theirs from a converted a sport kick by Diego Antonio.
The two nations reached Africa Nations Championship to kick-off next month in South Africa. Zimbabwe Warriors play in Group B that comprises Burkina Faso, Morocco and Uganda while Mambas of Mozambique will play in Group A and engage the hosts (South Africa) in the opening match as well as take on Mali and Nigeria.
The last two matches between the neighbouring countries ended in draws (0-0 and 1-1).
