Ollie Watkins has every right to be angry after getting benched for Marcus Rashford, Ian Wright has said. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, Watkins must feel disrespected that Marcus Rashford is currently playing ahead of him because he has always been the go-to guy to deliver the goals for Aston Villa.
Wright added that Ollie played superbly vs Newcastle, and that should have been enough to earn him a run of games.
His words, “When Jhon Duran was at Aston Villa, the form of Ollie Watkins was in and out. Ollie gives me the impression that when he is dealing with that kind of pressure, he doesn’t get the shout. With Marcus Rashford coming in, maybe he feels disrespected. Of course, he has every reason to be frustrated about what’s going on, and I’m quite pleased that he said he was fuming – as a striker, you want to be out there scoring goals. When he played against Newcastle and started that game, he was brilliant – that would’ve been enough for me to give him back his spot. If he’s not getting his spot back when he’s doing the right stuff, he’s going to be fuming.”

Marcus Rashford MBE (born 31 October 1997) is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward for Premier League club Manchester United and the England national team.
A product of the Manchester United youth system, he joined the club at the age of seven. Rashford scored two goals on both his first-team and European debut against Midtjylland in the UEFA Europa League in February 2016 and his Premier League debut against Arsenal three days later.
He also scored in his first Manchester derby, as well as on his EFL Cup and UEFA Champions League debuts. With United, Rashford has won the FA Cup, two EFL Cups, the FA Community Shield and the UEFA Europa League.
Marcus Rashford was born on 31 October 1997 in Manchester, and raised in the Fallowfield, Withington, and Wythenshawe areas of the city. He is of paternal Jamaican descent, and maternal Kittitian descent, with his grandmother being born on the West Indies island of Saint Kitts.
