Barcelona president, Joan Laporta has come out to praise the club’s board for rescuing the Spanish giants from their terminal financial situation. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, when he arrived over a year ago, the club was in a terminal financial situation, but the board has since restructured the debt, saved on financial costs, controlled the expenditure and Barcelona have heen increasing its revenue.
Laporta added that Gavi will renew his contract at the club and Barcelona is close to reaching an agreement.

“We have restructured our debt, we have saved on financial costs, we have controlled our expenditure and we have increased our revenue.”
“If these financial operations are approved by our members, it will be good news for us,”
“We will balance our books sooner than we expected.”
On Gavi, “We are optimistic,”
“We obviously want Gavi to continue at Barca.”
“We are close to reaching an agreement,”
“It’s more special for us because he [Gavi] comes from our youth ranks. We want Gavi to stay. The player and his agent want it too.”
On Dembele, “Ousmane had a renewal offer from us and we have no news that he has accepted it.”
