The House of Representatives has taken steps to prevent further attacks, according to Speaker of the House Tajudeen Abbas.
In a statement released in Abuja on Saturday, Mr. Musa Krishi, the Speaker’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, made the announcement.
Amb. Ahmed Bamalli claims that Abbas made the promise during a visit of condolence to the residence of the Emir of Zazzau.

During the Asr prayer on August 11, several persons were murdered and many more were injured due to the collapse of parts of the Zaria Central Mosque, as stated by Krishi, who made the visit.
In addition, he mentioned an August 12 bandit raid in the Kofar Gayan neighborhood of Zaria that left two people dead as a reason for the trip.
According to Krishi, the Speaker was saddened by the tragic events and informed the government and citizens of the Zazzau Emirate that the House has taken steps to prevent a repetition.
He claims that Abbas promised the Emir that the military would set up a defensive perimeter around certain hotspots in Zaria and the surrounding area.
Abbas was also said to have said, as he was quoting him: “I want to assure you that based on the way banditry wants to return, we in the House have taken some measures.”
We’ve opened fire on the military, and now they’re on their way to set up camp near the Kofar Gayan girls’ school. They promised us that they would fulfill their obligation.
As a native son and a key player in the political affairs of this palace, I can also say that I am eager to help fund the mosque’s restoration.
Please let me know when it is time to start working so that I can do my part in restoring this historic place of worship.
We appreciate your allowing us to express our condolences in person. (NAN)
