The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on Friday described himself as the luckiest politician in Nigeria, citing the constant support he enjoys from political allies across various states.
Wike made the remark during the commissioning of the newly constructed Arterial Road N5 (Obafemi Awolowo Way), which stretches from Life Camp Junction to Ring Road III (RR3), in Abuja.
The event, which formed part of activities marking President Bola Tinubu’s second year in office, was graced by dignitaries from several states.

President Tinubu was represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume.
Addressing the gathering, Wike said:
“Mr President, let me just say this; I don’t think there is any politician who is so lucky like me that each time we are doing something in Abuja, all my friends from my state, from your state, from Abia to Enugu, Sokoto and Cross River, name them, they all come.”
He expressed gratitude to his political associates and supporters, especially those from his home state of Rivers, saying:
“Let me, with your kind permission, thank the people of Rivers State and then all Nigerians. Those of you who are here, please take a bow before Mr President. Mr President, these guys are worthy of commendation.”
The Arterial Road N5 project is part of the FCT Administration’s drive to improve infrastructure and ease traffic within the capital city.
