The Rivers State chapter of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, led by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has declared that political leaders in the state do not require governors to mobilise support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Wike made the assertion on Saturday during the inauguration of the Port Harcourt office of the organisation.
According to the minister, local political actors in Rivers State possess the structure and capacity to independently mobilise support for the President without relying on any state governor.

“We are working for President Tinubu. We don’t need a governor to mobilise us. We have what it takes to operate independently,” Wike said.
He noted that the group draws strength from a broad coalition of political office holders and party leaders across party lines.
“We have senators, members of the House of Assembly, local government chairmen, National Assembly members, and party chairmen of both the APC and PDP,” he added.
Wike stressed that genuine political support must be driven by personal conviction rather than external influence, saying true commitment cannot be imposed.
“We have mobilised ourselves to demonstrate our commitment because true support doesn’t need to be brought by someone. You have to make the commitment yourself,” he said.
The FCT minister added that the display of unity at the event reflected the resolve of local leaders in Rivers State who have voluntarily pledged their support to President Tinubu.
