Popular singer Reekado Banks has come out to say that Wizkid already apologized for insulting him online during the #EndSARS protests. Recall that the saga started in 2020 when Wizkid blasted Reekado for releasing their joint record “Omo Olomo” during the intense protests against police brutality across Nigeria.
Reacting years later, the former Mavin Records signee revealed that while it was a very unpleasant experience, he was able to move on eventually.
According to him, it was particularly painful because he initially advised against releasing the song amid the passionate demonstrations, but his management disagreed with him.
He added that while the incident could have been easily avoided, it taught him to stand firmer in his convictions.
His words, “Not the nicest, especially considering I didn’t want to put the music out. I had urged my management at the time not to put it out, but they were convinced that it wasn’t a problem… It was so bad at the time. I was able to move on from it.
Recently, he came visiting my restaurant. We had a little talk, and he was a little regretful about it. He was like he shouldn’t have gone that route.
He mentioned his behaviour towards Don Jazzy as well, and he was like we are three people in the game that have only recently lost our moms. He feels sorry about the time and it’s good now.”
