The Adamawa State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has called for the formation of a strong and united national coalition to unseat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during a “Convergence of Coalition Partners” meeting held in Yola, leaders and members of the ADC described the APC-led Federal Government as a symbol of “misrule,” which they said should spur a nationwide political realignment to end its hold on power.
The ADC’s 2023 governorship candidate in Adamawa State, Malam Muhammad Shuwa, urged progressive politicians across the country to unite under a formidable coalition aimed at liberating Nigeria from what he termed the APC’s “crippling grip.”

According to Shuwa, the proposed coalition’s goal goes beyond merely winning the 2027 elections, but also entails launching a full-scale national reset to tackle insecurity, end corruption, revive the economy, and restore public trust in governance.
“This coalition is about reclaiming Nigeria. It’s not just about power; it’s about purpose. We must unite and offer Nigerians a viable alternative — one that will uproot the culture of mismanagement and hardship entrenched by the APC over the years,” he said.
Also speaking at the event, a retired Comptroller of Immigration and the Sarauniyar Guyaku of Gombi, Hajiya Larai Zakari, expressed confidence that the ADC-led coalition would succeed in 2027.
“This coalition, under the leadership of the ADC, will succeed,” she declared, urging unity among coalition partners to prevent further national decline.
The Adamawa State ADC Chairman, Shehu Kambile, emphasized that the meeting was convened to engage political stakeholders in a strategic dialogue on pressing national issues and to form a unified front ahead of the 2027 polls.
“Our mission is to build a powerful, people-centered alliance that will rescue Nigeria from the stranglehold of bad governance. The time to act is now,” Kambile stated.
