The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Ogun State, Ladi Adebutu, has described the omission of his name from the list of candidates published by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as a temporary distraction.
Adebutu said the development would not derail his political ambition or affect his determination to participate in the 2027 governorship election.

The PDP chieftain maintained that the party remained committed to its preparations for the poll, expressing confidence that the issues surrounding his absence from INEC’s list would be resolved.
He urged party members and supporters not to be discouraged by the development, insisting that the omission did not represent the end of the party’s political pursuit in the state.
Adebutu’s reaction comes amid concerns over the list of candidates released by INEC ahead of the 2027 elections, with his name reportedly missing from the list of governorship contenders in Ogun State.
The development has raised questions among PDP supporters about the party’s participation in the forthcoming governorship contest.
However, Adebutu described the situation as a temporary challenge, urging his supporters to remain focused and continue working towards the party’s electoral objectives.
The former governorship candidate has remained a prominent figure in Ogun State politics, having contested the 2023 governorship election against incumbent Governor Dapo Abiodun.
The latest development adds to the political uncertainty surrounding the PDP’s participation in the 2027 Ogun State governorship election.
