2027: APC Shares APGA’s DNA, We Are Partners – Soludo

Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, has said the All Progressives Congress (APC) shares the political DNA of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), describing the relationship between the two parties as a partnership.

Soludo made the remark on Thursday while speaking about the political relationship between his administration, APGA and the Federal Government ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The governor said APGA and the APC were working together in the interest of Anambra State, stressing that the relationship should not necessarily be interpreted as a merger between the two parties.

According to him, the APC has elements of APGA’s political philosophy and has demonstrated willingness to work with the state government to advance development.

Soludo said his administration’s engagement with the Federal Government had produced cooperation on several projects and initiatives, adding that political differences should not prevent governments from working together for the benefit of citizens.

He maintained that APGA remained a distinct political platform with its own identity and history, while acknowledging the areas of convergence between the state government and the APC-led Federal Government.

The governor also said the partnership was not about abandoning the interests of Anambra or compromising the principles on which APGA was established.

He stressed that his administration would continue to pursue policies and programmes capable of improving the lives of residents while maintaining constructive relationships with relevant political stakeholders.

Soludo’s comments come amid increasing political realignments ahead of the 2027 elections, with parties and political actors exploring alliances and partnerships as they position themselves for the next general election.

The governor’s remarks are expected to further fuel discussions about APGA’s political direction in 2027, particularly its relationship with the APC and the Federal Government as preparations for the election intensify.
