The Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Farouk Umar, has pledged the full support of his emirate to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections, should he seek re-election.
The monarch made the declaration on Saturday during a condolence visit to the family of the late President Muhammadu Buhari in Daura, Katsina State.
The visit was led by First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, who was accompanied by a high-powered delegation of prominent political spouses and dignitaries.

Those in the delegation included wives of the Senate President, Speaker of the House of Representatives, state governors, ministers, and military chiefs, among others.
The delegation offered heartfelt condolences to Hajiya Aisha Buhari and the extended Buhari family following the passing of the former president.
Receiving the First Lady and her entourage at his palace, Emir Farouk paid glowing tribute to the late Buhari, describing him as a patriot and statesman whose legacy of service and integrity will be remembered for generations.
In a significant political move, the monarch seized the moment to publicly express his unwavering support for President Tinubu’s leadership, urging the people of Daura and Katsina State to remain loyal to the current administration.
“President Bola Tinubu remains our choice for 2027,” the Emir declared. “We stand firmly with him and will continue to support his administration as it strives to deliver on its mandate to the Nigerian people.”
The royal endorsement is seen as a major political boost for President Tinubu in the North-West, a region regarded as a key electoral stronghold.
Senator Oluremi Tinubu, in her response, thanked the Emir for his words of encouragement and support. She paid glowing tribute to former President Buhari, praising his legacy of sacrifice, selfless leadership, and national service.
“President Buhari’s legacy of integrity and patriotism will continue to inspire Nigerians,” she said. “His contributions to the unity and progress of our country will never be forgotten.”
The visit not only served as a condolence gesture but also underscored the deep political ties between the Buhari family and the Tinubu administration.
It comes amid growing speculation and early political manoeuvring ahead of the 2027 elections.
