Former Labour Party presidential aspirant and Convener of the Rescue Movement for a New Nigeria, Faduri Oluwadare Joseph, popularly known as Fadojoe, has declared that the party’s 2027 presidential ticket will not be handed out on a platter, but vigorously contested.
In a strongly worded statement titled “2027: The Battle for Nigeria’s Soul Begins,” Fadojoe addressed ongoing internal challenges within the Labour Party, asserting that efforts are underway to rebuild and reposition the party into a formidable force ahead of the next general elections.
“While the party may seem disorganized today, let it be clear: before 2027, we will rebuild and reposition the Labour Party into a force ready to contest and win the election,” he said.

“It might seem as though the center is not holding, but it will. And when it does, Nigerians will finally have a real choice in 2027 — a choice beyond the recycled failures of the past.”
Reacting to the wave of defections from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Fadojoe downplayed the political impact, saying: “Let the defections continue. PDP members may continue to flock to the APC in droves, but here’s a truth many fail to acknowledge: each of those defectors carries only one vote.”
He emphasized that the 2027 election will not be won through “political chess moves,” but by the will of the people.
“No reasonable politician in a sane country would proudly align with a party alleged to have inflicted immense suffering on its citizens. But that era is coming to an end,” he said.
Fadojoe predicted a generational shift in leadership, stating that the younger generation is prepared to take over the reins of power.
“2027 will mark the rise of a new political generation. We, the younger generation, are ready. We are agile, tech-savvy, mentally equipped, and purpose-driven. We are not in this to enrich ourselves, but to restore Nigeria’s greatness,” he declared.
Sending a direct message to Nigeria’s political establishment, he concluded: “To the political class stuck in the past: 2027 will not be business as usual. It will not be decided by rigging or outdated tactics. It will be decided by the Nigerian people.
“And we are mobilizing — state by state, ward by ward, voice by voice — until every Nigerian understands that their vote is their power. Let this be a warning and a promise: a new Nigeria is rising. So help me God.”
