Kenneth Okonkwo, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will lose the 2027 presidential election.
Okonkwo, who serves as campaign spokesperson for ADC presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, made the assertion during an interview on Symfoni TV.

He said the political situation was increasingly favourable to the opposition, arguing that the current administration had faced significant public dissatisfaction.
According to him, the opposition has a strong opportunity to defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) if its various interests remain united ahead of the election.
Okonkwo maintained that the opposition’s performance in the 2023 presidential election, despite operating without the advantages of incumbency, demonstrated its potential to challenge the APC.
He argued that the economic difficulties facing Nigerians could also influence voters’ decisions in the 2027 poll.
The ADC chieftain further expressed confidence in Atiku’s chances, saying the opposition candidate has a clear path to victory.
His comments come as political parties and their leading figures intensify preparations and strategic realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Okonkwo urged Nigerians to assess the performance of the current administration and make their choices based on the issues affecting the country.
