60 indigent students of Kebbi State have received free admission forms from Banganna District Development Association in Kalgo Local Government Area of Kebbi. The Chairman of the association, Alhaji Attahiru Mohammed, made the disclosure in Kalgo on Sunday.
He said the forms were distributed free of charge to qualified indigent students of the area, adding that the forms were for admission into NCE and Diploma programmes.
Mohammed said the association had spent N125,000 to procure the forms that to enable the beneficiaries secure admissions into polytechnics and colleges of education.
He said the association would expand the scope of the scheme to accommodate more beneficiaries.
“We are determined and committed to promote the educational quest of our people,“he said.
Mohammed added that the association procured the forms from the monthly contribution of members.
He commended members for prompt and consistent payment of their monthly contributions.
The chairman said the first batch of the beneficiaries included 30 males and 30 females.
He said that the association would support them with small stipends when they secured admission into schools of their choice.
One of the beneficiaries, Bagudu Ibrahim, lauded the efforts of the association, assuring that they would justify the resources invested in them. (NAN)
